Seville Royal Fair

This year the holiday week is scheduled from May 4 to May 11!

FThe eria de Abril is one of the most international and popular festivals in Seville, which dates back to 1847.

It was originally conceived as a livestock fair, but over time, the fair turned into the brightest and most beloved holiday of all Sevilleans.

The celebration officially begins Monday at midnight with a light display and the illumination of thousands of colored lights throughout the fairgrounds. On the southern shore of the Guadalquivir, huge festive gates with enchanting lighting are erected and an endless camp with tents is set up, where the main festivities take place.

During the holiday week, more than a thousand tents set up at the fairgrounds become the second home of the residents of this city, a place where you can have fun in the company of friends, acquaintances and others until the morning!

During the fair, city residents dress in national costumes, parading through the streets on horseback or in ancient carriages. The city hosts numerous performances and attractions; in the tent camp you can try national Andalusian dishes, sherry, wine or sweets. From the evening until the morning, the music of the guitar, castanets and acoustic cajon does not stop in Seville. Men in tight trousers and shoes and women in gypsy flamenco dresses dance Sevillanas, the national Andalusian dance.

Every year, thousands of tourists from different countries come to the April Fair in Seville to enjoy the extraordinary beauty and charisma of this holiday.

And after a week of fun, the April fair ends with a spectacular fireworks show until next year.
