Girona and cinema

Gnonsense  –  This is how Girona, the capital of the northeastern province of Catalonia, one of the most ancient cities in Spain, was called even under the Romans.  The perfectly preserved historical center, surrounded by defensive walls of past eras, has always attracted the attention of tourists who want to wander through the narrow streets of this city and mentally plunge into the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. Filmmakers from different countries could not resist the temptation to turn the temples, squares and streets of ancient Girona into natural settings for their films. A new wave of unprecedented interest in visiting historical Girona has arisen among true film fans, after a number of episodes of famous films such as “Perfume” and “Game of Thrones” (season 6) were filmed here. We will take you to the same places where the dramatic scenes of these famous films were played out and you will be able to capture yourself against the backdrop of real cityscapes of the ancient city, transformed by talented decorative artists and which you can easily find when watching these popular films again. And we will end our visit to Girona with a visit to a very interesting cinema museum, opened in 1998 on the basis of the private collection of Thomas Majall, where more than 30,000 exhibits will tell you how this magical and magical art was born and developed  –  MOVIE.
